One of the biggest challenges being a tenure-track professor in RIT's School of Film and Animation is finding time to do scholarship and creative work with the equivalent of a 4/4 teaching load. (The 5-6 per semester advising students more than constitute a single class.)
As the sole full-time screenwriting instructor for most of the my time at RIT, I taught, developed, and refined the school's screenwriting courses. (Dramatic Structure, Writing the Feature, Graduate Screenwriting, Fundamentals of Screenwriting, Writing the Series, Writing the Short, and Los Angeles - Behind the Scenes. Note: All the Writing the... classes had graduate and undergraduate components.)
In 2014, I created the course: "Writing the Series" to instruct and train students in the unique craft of television writing.
Below are links to my teaching schedule from 2014 to 2021 as well as the "teaching" sections of my annual self-evaluations. (I have removed all non-public information for student privacy.) My self-evals include excerpts from my end-of-semester student evaluations. Spring 2021 is not included as the self-evaluation will not be completed for 2021 until January 2022.
